Digital Regions Platform service is used, by whom and for what purposes.
Information you give to us
Personal Data provided by you to us will be held in accordance with the data protection principles of Ireland and set out in the Data Protection (Amendment) Act, 2003, the Data Protection Act, 1988 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679. Your Personal Data consists of your name and work contact details, i.e., employer name, job title, work email address, work telephone number, biography and personal photo.
What is the purpose of processing your Personal Data?
The purpose of processing your Personal Data is that it is necessary to fulfil your role as an authorised staff member of an organisation that cooperates, or is a member of a consortium, with ERNACT to research, develop and implement European Union (EU), National Government and local authority projects in the field of digital agenda, innovation, technology and knowledge transfer, research and development. (see list of current relevant projects below). The specific purposes are:
- Carryout out joint project development and management activities
- Providing information regarding the project partnership
- Organising and completing project events, such as meetings, workshops, conferences and seminars and including booking transport and accommodation related to the project events.
- Distributing project documents, good practices, services and action plans developed
- Carrying out dissemination activities via websites, social media, newsletters, publications, reports, news items and press releases
- Producing status and financial reports for ERNACT, the project consortium and the project funders.
Will anyone else receive a copy of your Personal Data?
Your Personal Data will be used for the purposes described above only.
Where is your Personal Data stored?
Your data will be stored electronically on a database hosted by
Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ireland.
Who is Amazon Web Services (AWS)?
AWS is a “data processor” who provides web and database cloud services to ERNACT. We have a contract in place with AWS.
How long will my Personal Data be stored for?
Your Personal Data will be held until the expiry of the legally binding retention period imposed by the project funders. You may check this by contacting your ERNACT project manager.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. The information is used to create summary statistics to allow us to assess the number of visitors to the site, identify what pages are visited most frequently and make the site more user friendly. We do not attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website and will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source.
